Nantucket chef targets Fan Pier for new restaurant

Fan Pier will be getting yet another new restaurant.

The Fallon Co. announced that it would add Lola 42 — a sister restaurant to Nantucket’s bistro and sushi bar Lola 41 —marking the very first off-island Massachusetts outpost for owner Marco Coelho.

Lola 42 will occupy approximately 3,700 square feet of space on the ground level of Twenty Two Liberty, a luxury residential building at Fan Pier, and is anticipated to open in spring of 2017. Terms of the deal, which was brokered by CBRE/New England Retail, were not disclosed.

Like Lola 41, Lola 42 “will be a neo-global bistro and sushi bar, offering cuisine inspired from the 42nd parallel across the globe, including the Mediterranean and Japan,” according to a press release.

The Fallon Co. recently announced that Mastro’s Ocean Club; Boston-based specialty grocer Frank Anthony’s Gourmet Market; Sorelle, the popular Boston-based bakery café chain; and Laura LeDuc Fitness.

Other restaurants in the area include Mario Batali’s Babbo Pizzeria e Enoteca; Committee; Empire Asian Restaurant & Lounge; Strega Waterfront; B.Good; Leader Bank; and Starbucks Coffee Company.
