The Silver Line Buses
Fan Pier has the luxury of being serviced by the only bus rapid transit line operated by the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) as well as a parallel subway system that is known collectively as the Silver Line. The Silver Line consists of four well-planned routes, two of which provide fast and convenient service for commuters, visitors and inhabitants to and from our Fan Pier neighborhood. Route SL1 runs from South Station Under to Logan Airport in East Boston and route SL2 from South Station Under to South Boston.
The Silver Line routes begin at South Station where you’ll find the MBTA Commuter Rail, Amtrak, including the high-speed Acela to New York and Washington D.C., and access to the Red Line subway. Next stop is Courthouse, giving you direct access to John Joseph Moakley United States Courthouse, as well as the offices, residences, retail stores, restaurants, marina, beautiful parks and captivating harbor of Fan Pier itself. It’s as easy as that to get to work or plan a full fun-filled day or evening with friends on Fan Pier’s exciting waterfront.
Next, we move on to the World Trade Center, a vibrant hub of business activity. This stop also provides access to the renowned Boston Convention and Exhibition Center, the many world-class hotels on Boston’s waterfront, the Institute of Contemporary Art, and seasonal ferries to Provincetown on Cape Cod.
Catching a plane at Logan Airport? With subways and buses setting out as early as 5:30am in the morning as part of their daily schedule until 12:45am at night, let the Silver Line whisk you to either of its dedicated stops at Logan Airport’s Terminals A, B south, B north, C and E. No matter where you’re flying to or if you’ve just arrived in Boston, the Silver Line buses and subways are at the ready to bring you to Fan Pier and its surrounding neighborhoods.
The Silver Line’s routes continue on to Northern Avenue, Harbor Street, Tide Street, 21 and 25 Dry Dock Avenue which bring you to Boston’s highly acclaimed Design Center, as well as Black Falcon Avenue where your cruise ship, ready to transport you to faraway lands, is waiting for you.
